This chart provides data for 12 different characteristics related to the DPF. These include regeneration duration, kilometers traveled since regeneration, soot mass buildup in the filter, exhaust gas temperatures at the DPF input and output, and EGR valve closure. Because this chart includes data settings in the engine's ECU, it changes depending on the engine type. Settings must be manually changed or automatically updated. Updates are indicated in the form of a difference between the current and previous values. This only occurs when automatic updates take longer than 0 seconds. You can increase reading speed by removing any restrictions. Before reaching the fill limit, the display shows the percentage of the filter being filled. This prompts the standard regeneration procedure controlled by the engine ECU. To visually demonstrate the percentage of progress for a field regeneration or service regeneration, a bar graph displays the number before beginning. During a passive, field or service phase, the filter's status is displayed via a red light. The interior of the filter changes with different sections lighting up based on available percentage values. Additional information is displayed such as the communication error counter for the adapter, the current filter filling rate in grams per minute and the time required for the next automatic update. Additional options are available in the menu for changing this delay. The auto-update process is indicated by a notification bar icon that's in constant use. ———

ATTENTION!! This app works only with VAG cars (Audi Volkswagen Seat Skoda Porsche) that are equipped with engines listed below; the full compatibility isn't guaranteed for engines not listed, so if you buy the app, please consider that some or all functions may not work properly.

VAG DPF shows you the most important information about the DPF particulate filter and its regeneration phases using an ELM327 Bluetooth/WIFI adapter. With this app you can know if the regeneration process is currently running, if a regeneration is waiting to be completed, how many km have you traveled since last regeneration, etc. This app doesn't use standard OBD2 commands as most other apps, it uses CANBUS commands and this is the reason why it needs a decent ELM327 adapter to work (see the note below).

IMPORTANT!! Before to buy the full app, I suggest to try the app "VAG DPF Free" to check that your adapter, your Android device and your engine work properly with the app.

- Carista: recommended, affordable price but very reliable (I use it for debug and daily scans)
- Vgate iCar 2 Bluetooth : recommended, same as Carista
- Konnwei kw 903 : recommended, same as Carista
- China cloned adapter: not recommended, unreliable, you can randomly find decent adapters or fake adapters with unpredictable results

August 2022 update: I've found in a MY22 DTTC engine a new connection structure different from other DTTC engine tested; this update is currently not supported by the app, I'm investigating about it.
